So I've decided to switch powders for my PR 300 win mag only because RE22 is becoming harder to acquire. I ordered 8lbs of IMR 7977 but all I know that it's a great magnum powder and slow burning but was wondering if any of you guys are using it and your thoughts.

I have an 8# jug of IMR7977, and have built some loads for my 8mm Rem Mag, my 308 Norma Mag, and my 7mm Rem Mag.
However, the only loads I have shot are the 200 AB in my 8mm Rem Mag.....they look very promising, and the 'graph says they are
producing decent velocities, so I will have more to report when I shoot the others.

Regards, Dave.

Tried it in my 300wm good velocity and accuracy but my barrel got HOT after 5-6 rounds , didn't like that traded the 7797 & went back to 7028

I've used in my 280 Rem and 160 partitions with very good accuracy and good velocity below the max load, too bad its more pricy than other powders.

I just tried some in a 7mm mag the other day and the barrel seemed to get way hotter then it should after only a few rounds, glad it wasn't just me

I tried it in my 300 wm with the 215gr Berger Hybrid's. Had very decent accuracy , good velocity & low ES. But only burnt a pound or so. I found another 12 lb's of H-1000. So I went back to my petload. As for barrels getting hotter with the new powder, I'm pretty slow on the trigger now aday's so can't dis-agree or agree.
One thing that raised a eye brow ,was hearing about a metal spray that is applied to the Enduron powder's to help reduce copper fouling . But I'm not sure on the facts, might be just hear say. I spend a lot of coin on my barrels every year & didn't like the thought of pre-mature wear from a additive for copper fouling, when I don't have copper issue's. Please keep us up-dated with your testing & proven result's. I will add though, my barrels will get hot to when you run a 215gr at 3000fps...
