In need of 218Bee recipes

Ive got a hankering to load up some 218Bee.
Ive got 45 gr & 50 gr bullets

The only powders Ive got are Reloader 15, Varget, IMR 3031 and H4350

I cant find recipes for any of these powders, has anyone got one?

Ya, lots of data for 2400, cant seem to find data for the powders Ive got on hand.

I did up some basic calculations on Quickload. You're not going to get much better than 22 WMR velocities with those powders, unfortunately.

I dont have Quikload, what did you come up with? Im not really to concerned about velocity, Im just trying to get rid of some powder and Id like to shoot my 218 Bee.

I don't think you are going to have much luck with the powders you have on hand. Too slow. I am using 13.4 grains of Lil Gun with a 40 grain bullet.

buy a pound of something faster. Get 500 rounds from a pound if your using about 14grns per round.

AA1680 is working quite nicely at the moment, 2800-2850w/ a 40gr, haven't taken it to max charge yet. I have also used H4227 and IMR 4198 w/45-50gr and AA9 w/55grcast. I have used L'il gun, it is tricky stuff though. The Hodgdon data on it works well for some, and is hot for others. In mine it is a bit hot. I started at over 15% under max and hit max at over 10% under max. Really nice speeds, 3150+ where I started from with it, cracked 3400 with a load I won't try again, all in a .8gr workup. Nothing else comes close to L'il Gun velocities, but, lot variations on it seem to be common. Also have to be aware that some early guns in the early 50's may have .223 bores, not .224. the Bee was originally setup with .223 bullets, they are actually still available.
