Hey guys. Picked up my first mosin today. It has a shorter barrel than any I've seen. I googled it and found some pics of these shorter ones. New to mosin and milsurps. It was unissued and was brand new when owner bought it pre LGR. He fired 2 rounds to check to see if it worked and hung it on the wall. It's in MINT shape. It still has a lot of cosmoline inside of it. It looks like it just came out of the factory. Any info from anybody about shorter barrel would be great and possibly a value. Here's a few pics. Any discoloration on metal is Cosmo.

Polish M44 1955, the nicest Mosin carbine you will find. With only 2 rounds fired, still worth $250-$275. I have 2 polish M44, 1954 and 1955 unfired since they came in canada, absolutly new, cant convince myself to shoot them:p

Beautiful carbine. As said above, the Poles are the best. In the last year I have seen them average about $350. They don't move vey fast above that. Russians in good condition sell for around 2 to 250 so that keeps the Poles price in check.

What would be a fair price for a fair condition Pole M44? (Bayo and cleaning rod missing, front sight hood broken, some surface rust/pitting, some pitting in the bore, but still shootable)

Nice Pollock!! They have the best fit and finish of the whole bunch, you have a keeper. If you ever think of selling her, I'll take her off your hands.
