When the stag10 and Troy came out there was all this talk about 243 barrels. I cannot find one anywhere. Does anyone have any sources that are not 500 plus dollars?

Probably the only one that would be able to make you one under 500 and within a reasonable time frame is international barrels. I got a 6mm creedmoor made by jury custom barrels and I had it in 5 days from the time I ordered it. A little more than $500 though. But it is accurate and the quality is second to none.
Another thing with a 243 or 6mm creedmoor is that it is going to be way over gassed. I have a rifle length plus 2 gas system and a lantac ebcg along with a h2 JP SCS with the stiffest spring and my superlative arms gas block is 1.5 turns from closed. Severely over gassed with it open. Brass was getting mangled and going about 25 feet down range at 12 o'clock
