in the market for a new rimfire just because

I've narrowed it down to savage. The platforms are the mark2 tr or the 64tr. I can't decide if I want a bolt action or semi auto. It will be just for target plinking here on the farm. Any comments about either to help me decide

Doubtful. The makr II are crazy accurate. Dont hear any 64 owners raving about how accurate they are.

I have a mk ii trrsr bolt. I replaced the 3 sided rail with an egw one. It's super accurate. Nice rifle.
but,
I just picked up a tr sr semi in heavy barrel this week because I got tired of cycling the bolt and re-aquring targets! The semi is so much more fun IMHO you dont have to do any work, and are right on target for the next shot and next shot and...
And it's a lot lighter and a bit shorter. The trigger is definitely clunkier but I don't care.

Go for the semi but if you want the bolt PM me mine might be for sale.

I'd go with the semi for the fun factor. I originally bought the savage 93r17. It's a great rifle but it didn't take long for me to purchase the ruger 10/22 shortly after for the semi auto fun factor. Savage makes wonderful fire arms. Ether or would be a great choice.
