My wife and I recently passed our Pal/Rpal. We are filling out our application forms, and I was wondering if it would be wise to include a copy of our range memberships with the application.

They don't request it, but I wonder if things will be held up if we don't include the range membership proof- or is that only when we get to the point of actually purchasing a restricted handgun?

Thanks!

Not nessasary man, just fill out the requested forms and follow everything exactly as they say and you'll have no issues, once you are requesting an att they will require membership proof, congrats on your new hobby ;)

Not necessary, hundreds (or thousands) receive the relatively usual wait period without providing those documents

My RPAL was 60 days on the dot without the info

ok thanks all, we'll send off the paperwork san's the range stuff. As for the wait? well it's been 6 months now, another 3 or 4 won't bother me too much.

We couldn't get a weekend off together till late Feb, then the range membership course dates were changed, so we had to work with that - so it's early March. Then find a local instructor for our PAL/RPAL and try to sign up- nope, full.
Finally in late May we got in and took our PAL course over one weekend, and in early June we got our RPAL.

Glad we waited to get the instructor that we did, he was excellent, and we got our test results within 2 minutes of completion.

So if we get our actual licences before Christmas I guess it will be a successful year :) sooner would be better though.
