Indexing a model 94 barrel

Hey guys,

I was wondering who has any expirence indexing a Winchester '94 (pre 64 type) barrel on an action. My current barrel is shot-out, cut, back-bored general P.O.S.

I have an almost new pre-64 barrel to put on - any tips on the proper indexing methods? Just line up the extrator?

All "helpful" replies are appreciated.

Timing should be OK. Extractor cut should line up, sights should be on top. Check the headspace.
