I recently bought an indoor range membership in Saskatoon and they do not allow FMJ bullets which seem to be the most economical to shoot. Any suggestions for 9mm alternates that won't break the bank?

Do TMJs get me around this restriction?

TMJ is just a full metal jacket plus mor jacket covering the rear of the bullet making it a total meatal jacket so i would say nope.

Is reloading an option? I reload ammunition that is as good or better than match grade for less than bulk. What caliber? .223 i assume.

Call the office to confirm. During the CFOs inspection this rule was posted at the range and my understanding was it is an error and was meant to prohibit steel core and steel jacketed ammunition.

The rules posted on the website state no steel jackets or steel projectiles.

They might... FMJs typically have exposed lead at the back of the bullet, whereas TMJs are completely covered. Before we went to AR500 plate for our targets, our club had a no FMJ rule. TMJ bullets were ok though, IIRC.

Like armycat mentioned before according to the website they only prohibit the use of projectiles with steel in them. I’ve only ever shot Remington UMC 9mm 115 grain fmj at that range. Also I assume you’re talking about the Saskatoon wildlife federation range.
