Inertia & kick off

hey,

Not ENTIRELY sure but inertia is the 'energy' your gun has after being fired ie: what keeps it pushing into your shoulder from the recoil. So some auto shotguns rely on the inertia from the gun to recock the action and load another shell from the magazine into the chamber, usually helped with springs and such.

As far as kick off system, not sure but you mean by that... maybe it's something similar to the same as an inertia driven auto reloading system like explained above...

Hope this helps,

Thank you Redsled,

I heard that some Beretta Xtrema 2 come with kick off and cost $ 300 more than the regular Beretta Xtrema 2.

Any help here.

Beretta kick off system

from the beretta site (www.beretta.com/index.aspx?m=74&idc=1&ids=74)
has a nice pic of the system

New Kick Off® Recoil Absorber
The new Beretta patented Kick Off® system (present on the A391 Xtrema2 Kick Off® models) has been conceived to further reduce felt recoil when shooting. Thanks to the Kick Off® device, the recoil energy is gradually dissipated by two hydraulic absorbers (oil-operated) inserted into the stock. The result is superior comfort for the shooter. At the same time, the vibrations and the muzzle jump when shooting are strongly reduced.

shock absorbers ... like on your vehicle.
So simple yet very smart. I wonder if this is an old idea with a new name.
