Inexpensive Scopes for .22?

Hey guys and gals, I was curious if any of you have some OK inexpensive scopes that have seemed to work ok? Im looking for one for my sr-22 just for when I do a little hunting with it. I dont really want to spend more than maybe 125 bucks.

I realize that 125 bucks wont get me a 900 dollar optic, and thats not what Im asking!

Any of you guys try out some ebay scopes, or cheap tasco, simmons, leaper, utg, anything like that that have worked decently? Im thinking a 3-9x32?
 
I have had good luck with the cheaper bushnell scopes on rimfires. I have had leapers/utg and simmons and the bushnells are better IMHO.

I've had both, and for being similar in price the bushnell rimfire is twice the scope the simmons is. I know a few people who use the Tasco Varmint scopes on theirs as well. You don't have to worry about recoil with rimfire, so just about anything will work.
 
Best VALUE 22 scope I've used is the Sightron S1 on my CZ. Not in that budget, but allot of scope for under $300. I've had cheap-o scopes serve me well, others tank very early in their life. In that budget, I'd look on Amazon for a Mueller with adjustable objective. A very good alternative is to watch the EE (Optics) and look for a vintage Bushnell Banner with AO. I've snapped-up several in the $125-$150 range, and they're a steal if you ask me. I have a "Rex" brand, Chinese AO scope on my air rifle, and another on a 22. I don't think I paid more than about $50 for either one of them, and they work very well. Picked them up used off of the Canadian Airgun forum, but I haven't seen one on there in a LOOONG time. Not a high-end scope, but performance/glass-wise...worth way more than $50.

What model of bushnells are you guys referring to, anything specific?

I have been watching the EE for the past few weeks, and anything that I find that seems ok, i google the price on what I could get one for new in Canada, and havent come across anything great yet.

Im a stay at home dad with a low budget for cool things like expensive optics, so I have to stay on the lower end of the spectrum for a few years till my kids go to school and I get back in the work force.

Trust me, I know what you mean. Seems like there's very little depreciation on used items around here (compared to kijiji). Just be diligent, and keep watching. It worked for me.
 
Bushnell 3200 is a good option. Even a luepold rifleman would be alright. Yeah they are in the $300 range, but from experience, when it comes to scopes, buy once, cry once

Look at the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn, look for an adjustable objective model. Higginsons Powder seems to have decent prices. You can likely find them at your local CDN Tire or Wallyworld too.
 
I have a Tasco rimfire 3-9x32 that came with some rifle...it might have some ring marks but if you want it you can have it for the shipping costs since you are hard up....I need the space anyway.

I appreciate it, I'm not that hard up, just on a budget, shoot me a message though if you would sell it. If it worked and isn't super bad I'd be interested!

I do have an old scope from my grandfathers old .22 but it won't stay put, I'm hoping not to get into something like that again.

That is a pretty cheap Simmons for 56 bucks, wonder if they are half assed decent? I've looked at some on eBay for around that price that are neat looking and whatnot but who knows how good they are

The reviews on amazon seemed pretty good, a few reviewers i believe destroyed their scopes putting them on centerfire rifles so I discounted those reviews since I'm only using it on my 22.

That tasco has a 100yard parallax and comes with Weaver rings not rimfire rings. Probably not the best choice for a .22.
 
If you're looking to use it for hunting, look at shotgun scopes. They have the same parallax setting as a rimfire scope and are built tougher. They can be priced all over the spectrum but you can pick up a banner shotgun scope in your budget. I have one on my 597 and swear by it.
