Info about Chinese SKS

like to know which war between the two that China had SKS. They were allies after 1950. Guarantee the Soviets would not have handed over blue prints for arms to an enemy nation.

Allies after 1950, not real friendly after the 1950s.

China did use the SKS in combat vs the Vietnamese in the late 79s and early 80s. And there was a small border skirmish between the Russians and Chinese in March of 1961.

But no large USSR vs PRC overt conflict.

Or if it has Chinese characters and import stamps it was first imported to the US market. English writing is not an instant sign a gun is not military surplus and that it was only ever built for civilian use.

While this maybe true, the extra parts surplus from military warehouses were used to build export rifles. I personally have never seen a military issued rifle with english on it, other than required export markings at the time of export. I have many examples of chinese sks, both military issue and consumer export rifles. There is no english on the military rifles ( not to confuse factory stamps with export markings)

I've seen English writing on Chinese military rifles with Arsenal stamps. They were exported to the US, then came up into Canada. Have one or two in the safe.

Of course, English was stamped on all of the commercial and military rifles after the parts were manufactured and/or assembled.
