Can anyone give me any info on some ammo? Age? Value? How it runs?
Cil dominion 22 hornet soft point (box of 20)
Cil whiz bang 22 lr high velocity (box of 50)
Eley club .22 RF lr (box of 50)
RWS Sinoxid .22 (box of 50 - some sort of German ammo)
5.56 MM Ball M193 winchester western division(box of 20)
Remington rifle match 22lr (box of 50)
Winchester western super X power point 7mm (box of 20)
Winchester wester super X 44 mag 240 grain (box of 50)

Winchester western super x 38 special 158 grain (box of 50)
Cil dominion 30-06 Springfield 150 grain (box of 20)
Gevelot 30-06 sprg 150 grain (box of 20)
Norma .44 mag 240 grain
Remington 220 swift hi speed (box of 20)

Cil dominion .30.30 super clean 170 grain (box of 20)
Cil dominion 308 Winchester sp (box of 20)
Cil dominion 303 savage hard point super clean(box of 20)


Thanks everybody and help would be greatly appreciated. It's all "vintage" looking.
 
I dont know all of it but I dont see anything of particular value there. Some sentimenal older stuff but not enough to make it worth a fortune.

How is it runs is dependent on your guns, and the only way to find out is to shoot it.
 
It all has collector value, don't take opinions from non collectors who just view ammo as ammo, I would say all the CIL ammo would sell for 10$ more than you can buy factory maybe a little more, the 303 savage is worth atleast 80$ or more, the 22 ammo Iam not sure as I don't collect it, if your looking to get rid of it I may be interested in some

Every gun show in Canada disagrees with you. Its not worth any more then any other soft point hunting ammo. I routinely buy this stuff for $15-20 a box.

The exception would be the 303 Savage, which you mentioned and would indeed be worth a few bucks. I forgot that in my initial assessment.
 
I have shot a fair bit of CIL "vintage" ammo lately. It can be bought at competitive prices and even more cheaply than "modern" ammo. I don't think that your stuff is very special. I agree that the .303 Savage may have more value. Most of the ammo that is as old as yours is Ok to shoot for casual plinking. But I would not use most of it for serious hunting. Backyard deer OK but not an outfitter hunt for example. The Eley and RWS rimfire ammo has been exceptionally accurate in my rifles. Norma and Gevelot ammunition has particularly nice brass for reloading. If you are reselling, about 75% of the price of new shiny stuff is a pretty fair price for most of it.
 
I frequent quite a few gun shows in a year and even worked at the one last year here, There is the odd deal to be found but I find most of the items and ammunition is over priced especially vintage ammo, maybe its different where you are. I never see vintage CIL/Winchester/Remington go for less than factory prices, Even when it gets listed on the EE its never usually a steal, and it does sell quickly. If you find it soo often at lower prices I would buy it up and put it up for sale here and make your money back plus profit.

CIL got out of the ammo business in the late 60's. Around 1968, I think. Government created IVI, who got the Dominion brand name, about then. Fabulous ammo, but since you can't get more, not a lot of interest. Seems that any collector who wants it already has it.
Eley and RWS, Brit and German respectively, is shooting ammo. So is the rest of the stuff, except for the .303 Savage, as mentioned.
The Gevelot is French, but without much, if any, collector value. Norma is just overpriced Swedish factory ammo.
Nothing is crazier than Canadian gun show prices. Too many vendors thinking U.S. on-line values apply here.
 
Pretty much plain Jane run of the mill every day stuff. The 22's stuff is the most collectable, whizbang , Eley and Sinoxid. Boxes must be in real good shape and full no markings or stickers rap them in Sran rap 5 to 15.00$ a box ,the other stuff is good for shooting or trading.:HFU:
