Just picked up a box of 168gr nosler ballistic tips for my 30-06. Going to make the switch from the 168gr. Barnes TSX bullets. Quite a bit cheaper and hopefully wont have as bad of copper problems. The TSX just hits too hard on deer sized game from my 30-06. Everythign you shoot turns into a pile of jello.

Has anyone had a chance to reload these yet? Just looking for a reccomendation as how far to start off the lands assuming my magazine length doesnt hold me back.

Thanks,

Mike.

I'm willing to give them a try and see how they work. If noslers leave big meat damage like the TSX I can always go back to a cheap corlokt or a cheap hornady 165g BTSP.

I have a box of the hornadys at home that seem to work okay with my reloads but they dont have as high of a BC as the noslers in the same grain.

Mine too, a 165 gr, through a 308 Win blew 3/4 of the lungs and 1/3 of the heart of a young buck moose at 280 meters. No exit hole, no bullet remains. Through the ribs, so no meat damages,

I don't use it no more on moose since then (it was more than 10 years ago).
But on deer, it works great. But do not expect finding lots of bullet remains....
