Any info about the 300 RUM please:

-Advantages/Disadvantages over 300WM
-Brass (is remington the only one?)
-Barrel length and rate of twist (208gr-ish)
-Short and long range performance
-Any balistics numbers

-Anything else to compare it to, etc, etc...

Thanks,

advatages- hits way harder
disadvantages- if u put a break on it and use it hunting it will blow ur eardrums and take the paint off ur hood. blows sh*t up off the ground
BRASS- i only have rem and it is crap. huge differences in the weight of each case. but i hear nosler makes it.
BARREL- i have the police edition 26'' barrel and 1-10 twist
SHORT AND LONG RANGE- never got it to shoot 1 hole at 100m but found consistent results at 1000m.
BALLISTICS- 220gr mk at 3100fps with a bc of 0.692 and the 240gr mk have a bc of 0.711
ive had mine about 1 year and im still playing with it. like i said ive never seen a 300wm that even came close to hitting as hard.

I have had impressive results. So much so that this is the only cartridge that I have two rifles in - I like it very much.

ive got 3 of them to touch and almost make 1 hole but the other 2 were bout 1/2 inch to 1 inch away. i think it maybe the brass im going to sort it and be super anal on the weights. but if u can get ur hands on it buy the nosler i hear its really good. probobly the best u will get until lapua starts making it

I have had good luck with Remington brass, but I trim all my brass, and exactly weigh every charge - around 1/2 MOA with my 180 Accubond hunting load.

Having said that, it just so happens I recently picked up 100 nosler brass and some 208 A-Max in Calgary to try out, and am very interested how this will work out as I extend my shooting range to 1000 +.
