Info on Leupold Scope

I have purchased a lot of estate items that included a Leupold scope, it is still in the box.

Info is: Leupold Vari X III 3.5X10 50 mm AO. It has tall target knobs, a matt finish and the reticle is a mil dot type.

I looked at the Leupold website but could not find it listed.

Any info on value appreciated. Is this "too much" scope for a .223 out to 400 metres?

That's a great scope .... I've used it up to 800meters!! You will be happy with it. Bright , bright image!

I recall selling it on the CGN EE Forum for $ 700 shipped. You are very fortunate.
