Hello I am looking for any information on my number4 mark1. It's a longbranch marked as made in 1942, however there is engraving besides these marks. It states /5L 4L3524 AND /3(F)FTR. I have attached some photos as well. I believe this extra markings were made after WW2 by the goverment. I am thinking about selling it and would love to hear some feedback.
Thank you

Photo links won't work for me. F(FTR) is Fazakerley Factory Thorough Repair. Major overhall at Fazakerley, near Birmingham. /3 - converted to the Mk.2 hung trigger. No. 4 Mk. I* became No.4 Mk.1/3. 4L3524 is the serial number. /5L I do not know.

It is /51, not /5L. Rifle went through FTR in 1951 at Fazakerley. Good example of a rifle supplied to the UK during the war that was rebuilt in the postwar period.

What he said :)

should be a number for the month it was FTR'ed as well.

the /3 indicates that it was upgraded to the Mk1/3 standard, same trigger as the Mk2 and Mk1/2 but because it was a Mk1* with the milled slot rather then Mk1 bolt release they gave them another number
