I have a box of Norinco .223 ammo. It doesnt say a lot on the box except non-corrosive, brass case. I have no clue what gr (45, 55 ?), steel core ? fps ???

If it is the fmj stuff it is likely 55 grain boat tail. standard .223 loading, never chrony'd any myself.. powder burns dirty and smells odd. accuracy is so so. never had any failure to functions in an AR or Mini. cheap plinking ammo but that is about it.

same. Win is cleaner. I had a few Norc rounds turtle (round went inside the case), under slight pressure. Not sure why. The Win stuff at walmart is good for plinking and I would assume Varmint. The Norc brass is NOT good for reloading, the primer hole is sometimes not centred ??

I burned through 100 rounds of Norinco .223 on the weekend in my 11.5" AR15 - I had two serious ammo related stoppages.

In at least four of the rounds (from different boxes) the spent primers fell out of the brass during extraction, jamming the bolt once and the trigger mechanisim a second time. The other two primers may have bounced out on the ground, I didnt find them.

It is definitely a fair value for plinking, but I have never had this kind of trouble with any other factory ammo. Sure, every round went bang but it is unnacceptable to me for this to happen with factory ammo no matter how cheap it is.

I have also had trouble with very loose primer pockets when trying to reload the Norinco brass.

I think I'll be sticking to my reloads and North American brands in the future. YMMV!

I've shot a good 2 cases of it with no problems at all. The brass is crap though. I managed to reload it once but don't use them more than that as the necks tend to crack. glocker

I never shot the yellow box stuff, but we did use up a 1600rd case of ammo that was packed in 20rd silver boxes. I think we got the case from Marstar about 4-5 yrs ago. It was good stuff. No issues in an AR (not mine).
