info on shotgun

my uncle have a shogun that my brother want to buy so i try to determinate the value. here is all i know
- 12 gauge bolt action
- 3 shot capacity
- adjustable choke

i know there's not a lot of bolt action shotgun so it shouldn't be to hard to find.

Sounds like a Marlin 55 goose gun or a Mossberg .no matter $ 250.00 tops as they don't seem to hold a lot of value .

Could be a Mossberg 195 or a later version 395 (they took 3" shells) . There was also a Savage/Stevens bolt. They are fun guns but not expensive depending on condition $125 to $175.

I had one I got from my dad, it was a Mossberg. Sold it for $100.

No good for waterfowling as you can't get a fast 2nd shot. All I ever shot with it was my neighbour's dog and my wife killed a Stellar's Jay with it that was eating her peas.

chop it at 20", stick a new bead in and you'll have a cheap deer shotgun.
