Ok, here is another one for all you firearms experts!
I recently acquired a CIL Model 227 22LR semi-auto rifle. I found a link on the internet that said it was a Savage 871 rebranded for sale in Canada (http://proofhouse.com/cm/house_brand.htm).
This rifle has a loading tube (is that the correct term?) instead of a magazine. To the best of my knowledge, this gun has been in storage for about 25 years (although it could be as long as 35!).
There are no serial #'s visible on the receiver, barrell or loading tube - unless they are hidden by the stock. Can anyone give me any information on this rifle. I am most interested in year of manufacture (or at least something close), and cleaning or dis/assembly instructions. Also, other than sentimental value, does this gun have any value?
Thanks in advance!
Dean
