Trying to help out a friend. Gun was from her late uncles estate. I told her I would find out what it is worth and sell it on her behalf. Any valuation help would be appreciated.

On barel:
j stevens arms company chicopee falls mass usa
little scout 22-long rifle pat july 12-07 14 1/2

Gun finish is pitted, with rust spots here and there. Looks like barel is pitted and somewhat rusty in spots too. Front blade sight missing.

Stocks are decent. Metal butt plate. A rod that is inside a spring is broken that is part of the hammer assembly.
It is actualy a really neat little gun. Weighs (maybe) 3lbs, and the LOP is short! Perfect I imagine for the young shooter of years ago.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is a "boys rifle" as many of these smaller rifles were called. They were specifically manufactured to be sold to youngsters who were interested in shooting (1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s). The one you have here is worth approximately $100 to $125 in my opinion. Someone may want it for their collection, as a restoration project or for parts.

Oddly enough, I have the exact same little gun. Inherited it from my father, but I've never shot it. Always wondered about it's history but unfortunately never got the whole story from my father before he died.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your help.

Gun was listed on the EE for 100.00 plus shipping last week.

If I don't get any interest in the next 2 days, price will drop to 65.00 + shipping.

Thanks again,

James
