It is probably the safest method of performing a transaction for both the buyer and seller. The buyer cannot pick up the item without paying for it first at the post office. When you ship COD you check the box for payment type "Money Order" that way the buyer can't send you a rubber cheque. I have used the service often for people that are not set up for EMT and simply charge them the extra $7.25 that Canada Post charges for the service.

Secure method. The only way to lose out is if the receiver denies the parcel and it gets sent back to you the sender, then you lose the money spent to ship.

I use both methods, but EMT is much more convenient and cheaper.
