They want proof of who you are as you don't have any, or very little, trader rating yet. Some guys get all worked up about identity theft but I never have and if someone asks for proof of ID I typically place my PAL or DL on the receiver of the gun, take a pic and send them that. And as stated earlier in your previous thread, I will offer to send it COD to help reassure them as well.
 
I would not do that, no way on earth. I would rather lose the sale, no question, than send some STRANGER a copy of two pieces of picture ID.

If the buyer wants to know who you are, ask them to call you at a residential phone number.

Seller having to prove who they are?
