Infrared Illuminator

Not sure about availability in Canada, but checkout sniperhawglights. I see basspro and cabelas stocking these, or similar lights in the US. Not sure about in Canada

I think there may be a limit in Canada over how powerful they can be....might be worth looking into modding a high power flashlight with IR LEDS

I'm running a Nitecore CI6 infrared, white, red, green, blue 18650 light on my rifle. There is a faint red glow from the front of the light on IR, visible to the naked eye at close range.

With my PVS-14 outdoors in the dark, this light makes everything in front of my muzzle like daylight through the NOD.

That's solid info! How far does it reach?
Thanks!
R.

I can see clearly past 50m outdoors with my PVS 14 with the gain turned down. I can see my IR laser through my PVS 14 with the Nitecore IR on.

I don't know if Nitecore is still selling this IR light. It is not a Surefire but then again I am not JTF2 and it only cost $110 CAN at Warriors and Wonders.

What is the purpose of the illuminator?

I believe the power restrictions are only for focusable laser illuminators like on the DBALs and PEQ-15s, not for LED illuminators.

LED illuminators like the Surefire Vampire series are pretty good for close distances, but if you're trying to reach further out you're going to want something witha focusable beam.
