I have recently seen a matching Inglis HP Ser #1T### with fixed sights and a slot for the shoulder stock?...I thought just the Inglis HP's with tangent sights were machined for the shoulder stock?

In the 1980s an enthusiast in SW Ont did an excellent job of cutting Inglis No2s for the stock.

I had one of the early Inglis no2 pistols with the slot for stock. The initial order for HPs was for the Chinese, however when it became obvious that the pistols were not making it to Chine, the Chinese production stopped. Some frames were already cut for the stocks, so they were utilized for commonwealth production. They are found on some of the earlier pistols.

Seems to me I recall HP's in Canadian service with the maple leaf on the pistol grip that had fixed sights .... but my memory is weak on whether they had the stock cuts -- I can visualize it but my mind may be playing tricks

Waaaaaaay back when, I remember we had a pistol in the racks which had the Maple Leaf on it and appeared it had been converted to fixed sights. No stock cut out on it that I recall.

When I was in the CF RCEME in CFSEME we had browning Hi-powers with the stock cut. The slide had the tangent sight milled out and a fixed rear sight was silver soldered in. We ere "told" at the time
CF inventory was approx 30,000 Hi-powers in reserve storage, most NOS. this info dates back to 92'.

Anyone ever see a slotted, converted to fixed rear sight, Chinese contract Inglis made BHP with Chinese script down the side of the slide ? I did back in the early 1980s in Lahr.

funny the pistol I was issued and carried for 5 years had a stock cut and Chinese "acceptance" in the early 80s.

I saw a T series Canadian Hi power , slotted for stick, but no Chinese characters, but number matching.
I saw no signs of it being reached for fixed sight.

I have a mint Canadian HP with Chinese characters, all matching numbers,
in mint condition with mint Canadian stock . Bought it decades ago
Also have original mint Chinese made and marked HP stocks that came out of
a Chinese Arsenal. They were imported into America along with a broom handle Mauser’s decades ago
