I bought a Mosin that didn't match serial number wise. My bolt matches my bayo and the floorplate is forcematched, the buttplate matches reciever....anyway i went with the Okie Headspace guages. i got the no-go and the field guages, which my mismatch bolt passed no issues. When you look at the back of the bolt as long as the firin pin is flush with the back of the bolt and the little guide marks line up, you should be ok. doesnt hurt to check it with the tool though... boiling water, good cleaning, light oil. WELL CRAP that's what the bag was for not to keep from getting Cosmo EVERYWHERE.
I payed $409 tax included, for mine back in mid February. 91/30s were about $180-$190 at the time IIRC. I already had a(and still do) 1943 PU sniper, and wanted a carbine and lucked out. Now I would like to find a hex receiver one. Perhaps, someday I'll find one but, right now I'm not looking too hard.
