Insides of scopes exposed

Well we all have strong opinions on who has the best scope and just as many opinions on the use of cheap scopes. Has anyone ever made "open" comparisions from cheapies to high end? By this I mean showing the actual internals and materials used.

Imagine a Tasco after that treatment...

Mel at SniperCentral has some pretty good reviews, even if he doesn't open the scopes, he often refers to their construction (one piece tube vs multiple pieces, metal gears vs plastic, etc).

Hmmmm I have a tasco 6-24 varmint might be more fun to torture than sell it for $40 bucks.

I have seen many Leupold cut aways and a Zeiss used for comparison, there are many features not described to the public but I guess it's all to do with the lifetime warranty.
