Remington 760 Gamemaster ADL .308 carbine. 1956 vintage - mid-century when the big makers were at the top of their quality game. Skinner of Montana peep. Nicely figured walnut though the pic is too dark to tell. Slickest bush guns ever made, these 760's. Compact, light, glass-smooth action almost as fast as a semi-auto. Good accuracy from the free-floating barrel. Almost no felt recoil in this .308. You lose nothing in the bush with a .308 over a .30-06 except for too short a case to load the heaviest bullets (200 grainers and up) but you gain a bit in accuracy and lessened recoil.
