Ive got a NOrinco HP9 14 inch 870 clone. Got my bag of parts in from PD today. GOt speedfeed forend and stock.

Prior to this whole gun was taken apart...very fast...not problems. Old foreend completely removed.

Speedfeed stock installed no problem. Perfect fit. The foreend however didnt fit right. I checked the hp9 tube prior to install for burrs, grit whatever...all good...applied lube to outside of tube...to ease install. SO anyways the stinking red commie devil tube got stuck half way in the new speedfeed forend. Either the speed feed forened ID was to small or the Norinco OD on the tube was to big. I carefully put in a vise with cloth wrapping around the forend so as to not damage it. Using my trusty non marring rubber mallet I attemtped to remove it. It didnt remove..in fact the stinking Speedfeed forened cracked in half. However the forened is still lodged around the tube...which is now completely and totally fugged beyond all repair...

Anybody have this problem???? I am use to working on machines, equipment and cars all the time and generally I dont have installs go down the ####ter like this....

I need a new preferably remington tube foreend. And also need a new plastic forened.

Anybody have any parts for sale? Or know the exact part codes I will need to order? Who might have this stuff in stock?

Arhgghhg I got half a gun...thanks for any help.

RePete...any idea what I can do here? Im assuming ill need a new foreend assembly? ANy idea what they go for? Any options on just buying a new forend? Yeah I dunno...theres tight...then theres this...it went in smooth at first then just totally jammed in place. Looking at the shape on the Norinco tube assembly which prior to this install was fine...it looks like the Speedfeed forened is not perfectly cylindrical..its distorted the assembly.

Thanks for any help.

I doubt the Norinco tube is to blame. Sounds like an out of spec forend. this can happen pretty often. the polymer sometimes warps a little as it cools.

Remington alleviates this problem by making all their foends with a slit down the length of the forend where the barrel will hide it. This allows some flex. The Norinco forend is probably like that too.

So is the tube totally bent out of shape now? If so, you'll need to order a new one somewhere. A Remmy part should drop right in.

The Speedfeed fore-ends are tight fits on the Remingtons as well, just not that tight. Either your tube is larger OD than the Remington or the fore-end was too small...or both. If you need to know want I can mesure the diameter on all of my 870s and let you know what they measure at.
Cheers

Ok I gotta ask...Reliable Gun and Tackle? Dudes seemed very friendly, had parts in stock and I have ordered from there. Tube assembly came in at about 50$s. After looking at speedfeed foreend it looks like its sagged in the centre and is out of round...maybe bad moulding?

Thanks for the help everybody. All I need is a new stinking foreend now. PD was pretty good about it, and said they would give me a new one. I dunno...not sure If I want to take a chance with another one of those #### parts..might get a surefire instead.

If its any consolation, I can think of at least half dozen 870s with Speedfeed stocks that I use and have never had a problem with them. Looks like you got a bad one.

Cheers
