Installing a foregrip on a SKS tapco stock?

I put a tapco stock with the bayonet cut on my SKS but now I want a foregrip on it. I removed the bayonet and would like to install a rail under the handguard. Is that possible? I was thinking of screwing a piece of rail on a smal metal bracket and screw the bracket under the handguard. Has anyone performed a similar modification?

Something like this?
Cheap ebay rail and a Israel Defense Store grip?

Drilled 2 holes in cutout, mounted the rail. No biggie.

There used to be a kit from tapco that allowed the installation of a handguard rail after the fact. Consisted of a rail and a bolt & spacer that allowed securing the rail to the underside.
This was just before tapco offered the stock with the rail built in. (Which is what I ended up getting)

I do not know if it will work with the "blade bayonet" version of the tapco stock.
Talk to Paul at sksman.com, he is very knowledgeable on which rail kit would work with which stock.

There is also a "Ultimate rail kit" available from Tapco which appears to have the same parts available.
Tapco PN # MNT90302

Personally, I would try to track down the rail kit as it is "drop in" before modifying your existing stock.
