Trying to install a Magpul STR butt stock on a mil spec buffer tube. Slides on easily, at least until it reaches a certain point.

I've been looking at the following Youtube vid, which is helpful but I can't seem to get the stock to slide further from about the 2:20 mark. Help?

Pull the friction lock down and you'll see a little stud with a hole in it.

Stick the tip of that dummy round (or real round) into that hole and press down, then slide the stock on.

Thanks for the rapid reply. That's what (I think) I have been doing, but this bugger just does not want to budge. And I'm thinking force should not be necessary?

Edit: Aaargh. Got it. Thanks again.

Normally you can just depress the release mechanism and, using two fingers, grasp the two round bolt protrusions on either side, slide down - and then push the stock forward (I usually use something to pad it so it's easier on the fingers). The irony is that Magpul has to include the dummy round with the STR and ACS stocks because the storage compartments actually prevent you from being able to do this (unlike on the CTR, ACS-L and MOE).
