how do you install the coupler for the lar 15 magazines? do you take the old floor plate out? bend the 4 pieces? I just received one in the mail and wanted to put it on my 2 lar mags but don't want to wreck them. If you could give me step by step instruction or explain on here how to do so that would be awesome. Much appreciated. :)

Hey, Remove the floor plate of each mag has you replace it with the coupler, hold the spring in place and slide the coupler in and it "sort" of locks in. Flip the other mag, take out it's plate and slip it in....Bob should be your uncle by now. **Warning** Do not throw, your now 20 round mag around like you would with a Pmag, Tango Down or metal one...the coupler will break realitively easy. Cheers!

You are assuming he got the cheapie plastic one, and not the awesome metal one with the attaching screw.

Stick a flathead screw driver, knife tip or a key under the floor plate the the end with the bend, pry it up and back. Sometimes they catch snags on the spring but it'll free itself. Slide the adapter right back in it's tracks.

And, then wrap some duct/gun/electrical tap securely around the joint to keep it all together.

That's exactly what I did. Not only do I feel it makes it more secure, but I think they just look weird without the tape and gives it the impression of a normal capacity magazine. Just my 2 cents.

Yea...... DONT "bend the 4 pieces"

Floor plate off..... coupler on.......

no
bending/breaking/welding/mach/woodwork/engineering/soldering required

Which metal one with the attaching screw?

X2....there is a metal one...coooooool!!

The original ones that came out were from Dlask and were made of aluminum. They were like $40.00 or $50.00 each. I got my two from Canada Ammo when they had a package of buying two magazines and the coupler for $100.00 (I got two sets). I also have the new plastic ones that are like $5.00, they are not even in the same league as the metal ones (although they are much cheaper, and will generate a lot of sales I am sure).
