Installing Pins

Does any one know the proper method to re-install a 1/8" pin in the bolt body of a Marlin.
It holds the firing pin in place,and I want it to go back in straight,not ####-eyed.
It is a very tight fit and it took some solid blows to get it out.

Hand eye coordination, solid bench... small end of the pin in the large end of the hole...small hammer light taps until well seated...

You ever use a press to set them?

Thanx for the answer. The problem will be starting it square. I think I will stone a slight chamfer on one end,cool the pin in the freezer and warm the bolt in oven,to expand the bolt and contract the pin.
