I’ve come across a few powder storage threads that made mention of insurance companies cancelling policies if you have powder...

Which companies are reloader friendly? I'm in Ontario if that makes a difference..

Thanks

Lol, as long as its in the proper container you will be fine.... Just dont go with a cut rate insurance company! Same applies to storage of gas and other flammable products..

The last time I checked Cooperators did not cover homes where reloading took place.

This is why I asked... there was a thread I saw where a customer of 30yrs had his policy cancelled by them...

But I also emailed cooperators recently and had the agent get in touch with the underwriter, who said as long as it is stored as per the legal requirements the home coverage is valid.

I got the exact same response from the underwriters when I renewed last month. No issues here.

I clarified with my insurance that firearms, ammunition and reloading were covered under our insurance. I believe Aviva is the company.

Aviva seems to be pretty good... I only learned about them after buying my boat. I should email and ask them (here in ON) and see if they have a clear and consistent answer

I just renewed with Cooperators and I am fully covered as long as components are stored per the regs.

Cooperators was one of the companies that was at one time refusing to insure if reloading components were stored in the home. Was several threads started about it back then, I wonder if they have changed their policy now?
