Insurance?

Hey possibly a very stupid question. On the EE when some one says Insurance and Signature
required what does that mean? Do you need to have insurance to own a Restricted firearm?
 
Insurance, in case Canada Post loses it. Packages can be stolen or simple go missing, hence you want to cover your costs in case the gun doesn't show up. Signature means they won't leave it on your front door step, someone has to sign for it. I have had more than a few handguns left on my door step even though signature was required. Go figure.
