The team trials for these matches was held at Bull Meadow yesterday with 2 relays of 2 + 7 @ 300, 500 and 600 meters. Former Swiss National Team shooter Marcel Kolb gave a demonstration, shooting clean with 225/225. Longtime shooting coach and former Airborne member Dave Oakie dropped only 3 points, leading Barry Langille, Peter Dobson, Braden Colman-Saad and John Marshall. FClass survivors were Steven Joy and Bill Giles.
This is the oldest rifle team match in North America, first shot in Saint John in 1886 and we still have the large Sterling silver trophy originating from the first match. This is a coached event and tradition dictates a formal banquet organized by NSRA Co-Chairs Evangeline Colman-Saad and Sonny Desrosiers.
We look forward to hosting New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island nexr weekend.
