Hi All,

I recently inheritied an Interarms Mark X .270win rifle and I know precious little about it. I was hoping that I could tap into this vast resource here and maybe some of you might have some information for me. The rifle itself has been sitting in a closet for almost 20 years. It is in used but good condition and according to the invoice, my father in law purchased it in 1978. My personal experience with firearms is limited to .22LR and .308 and this would be my first hunting rifle. I would appreciate any information / advice / suggestions that any of you may have on this subject or about this particular rifle.

Thanks in advance.

Well, basically you have a Mauser 98 action.

Is your rifle a "full wood" to the end of the barrel.?

Does it have a regular bolt or is it a butterknife style.

A very well built firearm that is valued as to condition and style, much like other models. It would be nice to get a picture or two and I could nail it down for you pretty good.

And some had a set trigger (two triggers).....

many Interarms rifle actions were used to make custom rifles.

Also, what style of sights (3 leaf where they are marked 100m 200m 300m or just a plain rear sight)

Let me know. Either or any configuration, you still have a fine rifle.

The rifles are made by Zastava, and are the same barreled action that Remington is using for the 798's. It has a triggerbow mounted floorplate release, and 2 stage safety of the right side of the bolt shroud. The quality is excellent with exception to their stocks, which were never that great. If you need more info, just look under the Charles Daly or Rem 798 models for comparisons. My first bolt action, scoped rifle was a MKX in .270 and it was great. Mine loved the factory Winchester 150 grain Power Points and Federal cheapies in 130. It was very accurate, though a little heavy. Congrats and enjoy.

Thanks for the responses.

Here are a couple of quick picks I just took tonight. Not the best quality but....

Any leads on where I could download an owner's manual / schematic for this model?

huntinstuff: Thank you sir. I appreciate your help.

pharaoh2:"Winchester 150 grain Power Points and Federal cheapies in 130" I'll have to try these and out and see how it goes. I've never fired .270 so now I've got an excuse to hit the range. Thanks.
