Interarms rebarrel question. .243 to .308

I have an Interarms .243 bolt action rifle with a large ring reciever. I am considering changing the barrel to .308 or possibly .338.

My question is, Would a .308 bore military barrel work? I would have a gunsmith do the job.

Any suggestions?

Yes... but why would you pay a gunsmith hundreds of dollars to install an arguably inferior quality barrel? If you're going to spend the money, do it right and get a new barrel. Decent ones can be had for less than $300
