I think any Mauser 98 stock inletted for a side safety would work.
You may have to do something about the barrel chanel, and glass bedding it wouldn't hurt either.

If synthetic stocks are to your liking you could go with a Butler Creek or Ramline. These are on the low end of synthetics, but they will get you shooting. You might want to pay a bit more for better quality H-S, McMillan etc. Todays Remington 798 is basically the old Whitworth/Interarms.

longbranch is right. The Interarms 98's were Yugoslav manufactured barreled actions same as the Remington. Although maybe the Rems had American barrels, not sure.

The Standard Catalog of Firearms (2003) lists several types of Interarms Whitworth rifles.
Interarms imported firearms made by Howa Machine, Star and Walther.
There is an Express rifle in .375 H&H and .458 Win. A Mannlicher Carbine with a 20" barrel and a Cavalier - both in .30-06.
The Carbine is listed at $400 in very good condition and the Cavalier at $275 in very good condition.

For a wood stock Boyds stocks and Richards microfit are pretty decent stocks for the money. I've dealt with Boyds a little bit, excellent customer service. You may also want to check out the Bold trigger from Boyds it's also great bang for the buck.

i believe this gun was made or imported by interarms
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but were there not also Whitworth rifles based on the P14/17 actions?
Interarms rifles, like it's been said, were generally imported from Yugoslavia and based on the 98 Mauser.

the rifles sold that where just stamped interarms where yugos but the rifles with whitworth stamped where made in England and i found a stamp saying made in Manchester England. i have put a few ramline stocks on a gun or two and they are cheep i would like to put some nice wood on it. thanks for the info.

sweet that makes me very happy. i have already picked out the boyds stock i want. thanks for all the help and i will put up pics when i clean up the gun and put the new stock on.

Check to see if it is called the Mark X somewhere on it. As has been said above, they are a standard large ring 98. Made in Yugoslavia (Zastava? I think) and assembled in England.

I had one years back, a 30-06 I bought new in 1983. HEAVY, but nice metal and accurate. Adjustable trigger too.

Nice rifle.

My old Whitworth.

Here's pics of a Whitworth/Interarms I sold on CGN, regrettably, last year. Chambered in 7X57, Geeez what was I thinking!. Nice rifles, but heavy for calber though. The trigger guard adds lots of weight but is well made.

I had an Interarms mini Mauser in .223 that I sold to a guy because he needed the mag follower and spring and I thought I needed a .22-250. I really regret selling that rifle.

so here it is and it looks alot different than most i have seen pictures of mostly the safety and the bolt handle, but the bold comes apart just like a Mauser. i hope some of you can shed some light on this rifle. its pretty rough the pitting is sorta deep so i need to find out if this kind of damage on the receiver is a safety concern. the barrel has damage at the end that i believe is unifiable but it only goes about two inches deep at the most so i think i will have to have the barrel cut and re crowned. i have all the parts sitting in a rust remover and the action and barrel will be going tomorrow and i will try and get some better pics. i appreciate all the help and info given on here.

it was very abused but the chamber and 80% of the barrel are in good shape so my only worry is that the damage to the receiver is to much to be safe the rifle actions very smooth for the shape its in.
