I'm thinking of getting into Ars,so I've been looking through the EE section,but my question is when you buy an upper from one guy and a lower from someone els,how does that work for registering since the barrel length and maker might change,do you register it as a lower with different barrel length,this has probably been answered many times before but I couldn't find it
thanks

Remember however that Officially, if you leave an upper attached to a registered lower (as frame/reciever only) for 30 days that you must get it re-registered with the upper.

From the CFC website:
Your registration certificates remain valid unless your licence expires or is revoked, you alter the firearm in a way that will change its description
Or otherwise falls under a new FRT # (Changing barrel lengths does that, as does adding an upper).

From the Firearms Act (Firearms Registration Certificates Regulations (SOR/98-201))
4. (1) Subject to section 5, the Registrar shall attach to a registration certificate that is issued in respect of a firearm the condition that the holder of the certificate shall advise the Registrar, within 30 days after the modification, of
(a) any modification to the firearm that results in a change of class of the firearm;
(b) in the case of a firearm registered as a frame or receiver only, any modification that makes it capable of discharging ammunition;
(c) any modification to an altered automatic firearm; and
(d) any modification that results in the firearm ceasing to be a firearm.
(2) Subject to section 5, the Registrar shall attach to a registration certificate that is issued in respect of a firearm the condition that when the type, action, calibre or gauge of the firearm is modified, the holder of the certificate shall advise the Registrar of the modification,
(a) if the modification is intended to be permanent, within 30 days after the modification; and
(b) if the modification is not intended to be permanent but still exists 30 days after it is made, without delay after that period.

So store it at home separately as a JIC...

that's what I was wondering with mixing and matching,and registering as I have pistols and own a lot of hunting rifles and shotguns but never an Ar style that has interchangeable parts
