Now, it has been quite a while since the release of the 'Puma.' Since the initial evaluations, has there been any change in opinions? What are some of the current issues one must go through to ensure optimal performance? Are there any flaws in construction that require oversight?

I have not lost any interest of this shotgun since the unveiling, but my time away from ranges - and a distinctly quiet ownership online - has made me curious about how well they are received now.

Indeed, if they are wont to turn into lemons, that has me considering the latest generation of the UTAS shotgun which I have witnessed run flawlessly; and I also happen to prefer aesthetically over the KSG.

So who would like to share their observations first? :p

Cheers!

I like mine!

I have a bit of difficulty doing rapid mag changes, and of course the Safety is in a goofy location, but I still enjoy playing with it.
The last time I had it at the range, I let some other guys run their ammo thru it, just to hear their opinions.
They seemed to enjoy it as well.

I'm in Langley, maybe meet up sometime?

I would really appreciate that tootall! I am working on the final importation leg of a fs2000: So maybe I will have a little something special to offer you in return. I will PM you some information to make this a reality.

Cheers!

I shot a friend's on the weekend and had a great time. We were actually at the range to shoot trap and we were both pleasantly surprised that the gun functioned properly with both #7 target loads and some #8 extra light loads. He has a red dot mounted so it was easy to track the clays with both eyes open. The gun is very well balanced and swings super fast. It was very fun to shoot. I too have read about some reliability issues and while I didn't experience that I will likely hold off on buying one for myself until they introduce the improved model. I would be happy to own the current version but at $899 I would rather hold off for a bit and get a better gun for my money.

I've had mine for a year now, used it quite a bit early on but the range I'm at won't allow it to be used for sporting clays so I'm losing interest for that reason only.

I found the gas port was drilled off center from the factory in the little end cap so I opened it up just a hare on center and lubed the piston with 10W30 synthetic motor oil. After that it could run target load all day long no issues (I use federal with good results, Winchester seems a little less powerful and has more trouble cycling). I still keep the no1 gas port size stock for slugs etc. I may soon sell as without using it regularly for clays it's just a safe queen the past few months. Had it out yesterday, ran a box of target load through it (had issues with my cheap sights is all) and ran 25 slugs through it no problem.

It turns heads, and is a thrill to shoot. I bought it with the intent to add chokes and take it small game hunting in the winter under trees and such where a ultra short shotgun has a real advantage but with the lack of a practice setup I may just scrap the whole plan.

might as well add my experience here. I bought this last month and have 50 rounds of federal 000 buck, and 25 rounds of dominion low recoil slugs.
we ran the federal through first and it cycled no problem. the dominion didn't cycle at all, my mistake, didn't check the box before we bought it.
it was fun though, just wish i bought a good red dot sight for it.

Thread revival: so mags seem to be available for it now as is an aluminum flat top upper: how are the guns holding up now that you had them for a while longer? Any issues that seem to be surfacing now after more rounds thru them?

My buddy has one and it works great. Just make sure the 2 3/4" shell are std length, we made the mistake of buying a brand that would not fit the mags.

I'm surprised these don't get more love...but I guess there will always be some haters on Chinese firearms. I'd love to try one before buying, anyone aware of one in AB I could try?
