Interested in CQB

So that is possible even with an ATT to spend the night somewhere nearby?

Because going to Guelph is still a distance away but I have an Uncle who would gladly let me stay for the night, so this would be an ideal situation instead of the drive to Borden(dont have any friends who would be interested so can't split cost of gas).

Also do the CQB matches require a TDSA Holster Qualification or Black Badge of some sort to holster a sidearm? I'll have my TDSA by then hopefully anyway, just curious.

I stay at my parents when I attend SR/CQB matches as I live in Ottawa. CFO has no issues with it, I usually get my ATT for Friday-Monday if I need a STATT.

There are advantages to keeping the rig simple. I use a pistol holster and a 2 mag pistol holster.

For the rifle mags I wear a bib that hold 3 mags.

The 4 round rifle mag goes in my back pocket until needed. It is not loaded against the clock, so it does not have to be handy.

I found things got faster and easier by doubling up 4 rifle mags. Most events are faster with a double mag. Just switch it over.

Sounds like a well thought out setup.

I've been running an HSGI Weesatch and a belt with holster/pistol mags on it, but found that setup a bit bulky for CQB where you only need 4-5 mags. I recently picked up a 5.11 battle belt and set it up for CQB.

I just bought this, so I haven't had a chance to run it in a match yet, but I think it'll be perfect for CQB. Has a pistol holster, dump pouch, 2x pistol magazine pouch, 2x double rifle magazine pouch. I may add another rifle magazine pouch, but I'll try it out as is before modifying it. It should also work well for SR in conjunction with my Weesatch as it will allow me to only stack the magazines on my vest 1 deep, decreasing the bulk in front of me and allowing me to get in to a good prone position, which I had issues with last season.

I have been shooting CQB for three years. My idea of a good rig is something simple, cheap and allows for quick reloads.

This is what I came up with - a bib that hold 4 rifle mags. Since I double up my mags, I only need two of the pockets, so I mounted my pistol mags there. Now all my reload hand motions are the same, and the mags are close to my center chest, where the reloading takes place.

In reality, that single mag you see is the 4 rounder. I put it in my back pocket, so there is no danger of loading it when I want a 5 rounder. The 4 rounder is not loaded against the clock, so back pocket is fine. I use that slot to hold my camera.

i go to the line with two pistol mags in the center holder and one doubled rifle mag in the pouch. The other double rifle mag is in my hand, waiting for the Load command.

That mag bib cost about $17.

Not that I want to hijack the thread but, I've read quite a bit of the posts on CQB and, taking the risk of sounding stupid, would a '82 pattern webbing do the trick for this kind of comp ? (just 'cause I already got one at home...)

And the bib comes in real handy for the BBQ after the championship match,;)
