I first asked the question...is it avilable in Canada yet.

I called KG coatings and they gave me the number of the only retailer north of the border (for now)

Anyways, Im looking at ordering some brushed stainless and a special order midnight blue/black clour (the guy at KG says it is a very, very deep black that shows a bit of blue when you get a bright sunlight on it - supposed to look very nice like a really nice deep bluing job - we'll see)

Only available this side of the border in 16oz cans at the moment ($52 ea)...a lot more than my needs. Anyone interested in splitting an order?

...PM me if any interest in splitting 16 oz of the stainless or black...

...Ive contacted KG coatings...its just been brought up here...Ive edited my original post to give info.

Sorry, I forgot the name of the business...

Its Maritime Shooting Sports in Nova Scotia. Phone is 902-527-2150

From what the KG guy tells me this is the only place in Canada that has the stuff. They're talking with a retailer on the west coast too but that might be a while yet.

So...unless anyone else knows of a way to get this stuff...

Maritime Shooting Sports just got their initial order in yesterday. I was told they have most colours.
They don't have a price yet..or didn't when they e-mailed me yesterday.
LOL!

Ive read that they have a "new" gun metal blue colour that looks really nice.

I cant find a pic of it yet but ive seen a pic of the Dura coat gun blue...not bad...
their gun metal blue is about 2-1/2 years old now. I've been using it that long.

I just spoke with them today...$52 per 16 oz was the number the guy gave me...

...as for the gun metal blue...you are correct about the colour however the one I am describing is a different product number and a different colour...its supposed to be a far deeper black/blue than the 2413 "gunmetal blue" colour.

...do you have any pics of the "gunmetal blue" to show? im curious to see how it looks.

this is one of the best pics I have..that is the original gun blue and their stain brass..which has changed a bit too apparently.

...looks good to me. :)

Is that the 2413 colour?

The guy told me that the 2413mb version is the one I want but the finish on your lever would definietely do the trick!

How far will 16 oz go,and how does Gunkote compare with Duracoat with respect to durability?

16 oz is going to do a number of guns...

...as for comarison and durability...I think there are about 20 thread on that discussion on this forum. In my reading I found that there are a number of similar products...all are a bit different...and each person likes one over the others for their own reasons (kinda like preferences over different cold blue solutions. For my application I decided to go with the Gunkote...just my oppinion based on comparing product information and comments from users of the various differnt products...

My research leads me to believe that Gunkote is more durable, has a shinier finish, is a thinner finish and has a teflon componant (so it can be used with very tight tolerances and in internals). It also requires spraying equipment and can be more finiky to apply (prep is extremely imprtant)...Just what ive read...do a search on the forum for Dura Coat, Gunkote, Armacoat, ect. There's lots of discussion about them.

Thanks. My picture taking ability is improving. :)
Yes..both guns are done with the 2413 color.
I just compared the two color chips (2413 & 2413MB) and the midnight blue is very dark..I held both in the sunlight and the original 2413 has a nice blue hue to it. The MB looks black.
The color on the KG color chips is close but doesn't quite compare to how it looks on a gun though.
