I came across this article, SHOOTING A PINFIRE REVOLVER, while looking up some info on a post I put in the CGN News Digest about a 19th c. shooting using a 7mm LeFaucheux pinfire revolver, although as one person commented, the historical reference was pretty high-brow and likely not familiar (!)
I also discovered that the artist Vincent van Gogh also used a 7mm pinfire to - eventually - kill himself. A 52 grain bullet at 500 fps! Pretty much a toss-up between that and a later "mouse-fart" gun, the baby Browning .25 ACP.
