Few months back I've heard somewhere that some of the S&W 4 inch barrel revolvers are actually restricted, not prohibited. I started doing some research on that topic and found that S&W made some of them with a bit (less than 1mm or so) longer barrel back in the days. That was just enough for those wheelguns to be classified as restricted here. I decided to find one...and it took me a while, but as usual the CGN community came to my help. Here is such revolver - S&W model 10-8 with 4 inch heavy barrel. Honest wear, but appears to be fully functional (going to test fire it later this month). Tight action, smooth combat trigger with very nice pull (no surprise there). Barrel is not pinned (10-8 was a transitional model and they stopped making the pinned barrels in 1982 I believe), but this is the last one of the fully forged guns made by S&W in the 80's. It has quite a sentimental value to me. Thanks!

Gentleman from Quebec kept this piece in his gun safe for years.
I placed WTB ad here and kept it going for like 2 months or so.
That was enough.
I wouldn't mind to own another one BTW :)
This model balances perfectly in my hand.

Very nice find,.....these types of S&W guns seem hard to find these days.
I also recently found the same gun in stainless, but it is classed as prohibited.
It is listed as 4", but I will have to measure it to determine it's actual length.

Thanks for showing it to us!

I have one and love it, aquired it from a fellow sogth unseen. Was worried when I opened the pkg.holy #### I i just bought a prohib. But no, restricted only.
Very nice.

I've seen yours - super nice. I can't own anything prohibited though.

I had a M. 13 with a 105.75mm barrel. Ex County of Parkland Bylaw Officer piece, sold by the Vaughns out of CX Shooter's Supply back in the day. Took forever to get the damn thing recognized by the Feds as restricted.

Shot well. Sold it 'cause I needed money - same old sad song. I'm sure it's out here somewhere...
