This year, I got drawn for a bull moose tag, which started September 24. The plan was to leave for hunting camp on the 22nd.
One week prior, I started feeling weird, and slept for most of the first day. The following day, I was still feeling bad, and having difficulties breathing. Tried to sleep more, until I couldn't take it no more. Wife called 911 and off to hospital I go.
Long story short: After spending the night there, I was diagnosed with a lung infection. I was prescribed with a five day steroids medicine to clear my lungs, and 2 different kind of "puffers".
Told Dr. about my upcoming hunting plans and he said if I feel up to it then, go. So I did.
So I get to camp on the 22nd. We usually stay at least 10 days. Although I felt better, I knew I would have to watch myself with strenuous activities.
On the 23rd, went to sleep early. Woke up around midnight with breathing problems again.
Another long story short: My friend drove me to the closest hospital, and I again went though the tests again. Turns out the lungs were still infected, as the first Dr. should have prescribed the steroids for a month...not five days. So picked up meds and back to camp.
As I continued on with the meds, and inhaler...felt better and better.
4 days after, called in and shot a nice bull. In fact, another bull came out as we were gutting the first one! No issues with the usual associated work. And the rest of trip was great. Helped a buddy after he also shot a bull.
A trip I will remember...
Feeling great today!
