I was in a shoot a few weeks back and I shot next to a gentleman with this model 12. He says it was from about 1970.
The Butt and Forearm are plastic and the but is spring loaded somehow. He said it didn't sell well when it came out, it was offered in the white and a wood color too.
Thought you model 12 guys would like to see it and the rest of you may find it interesting too.

P.S. We all had a good laugh when I told the guy, "Nice gun, did they make a men's model!" He laughed too, turns out he had sold it to a woman and bought it back many years later!

They put the same thing on some of the cheaper model 1200 pump guns, the WRRS, or Winchester Recoil Reduction System. It won't bring a premium on the 1200 and I'm not sure about on the Model 12 Trap gun, which draw a premium anyways.

Its called a hydra-coil stock they came in white and wood grain. They don't really bring much more money than a normal trap gun. It would have been made pre 64 as it is a
3-pin rib not the later Y-series rib.

As the above member stated,...yes, it's the hydro-coil stock made in white and wood grain brown. I'm pretty sure it works on hydrolic oil. Most by now will need a new seal and recharged with oil. Not sure how thick the walls are on those stocks? I seen one about 5 years ago, and the surface of the stock was spider webbing in cracks.

Anyhow, very interesting design.

Never mind the gun, how did you do in the shoot Dan???:D

First off, congratulations on winning high overall, Jamie!

We were shooting in the Northwest Trapshooters event at Pitt Meadows. It was a 3 day shoot and had about 20 shooters from the lowermainland, Kelowna and Sechelt.

I shot pretty much my average (as you know). 93/100 singles, 44/50 doubles, 89/100 from 22yd handicap, and I won the wobble trap (continental?) with 49/50. All in all I was happy save for my 41/50 first round of handicap, and the fact I missed the last 4 targets in doubles and lost the event by 2 targets....
The event is scheduled for July 15, 16, 17, at Pitt Meadows next year. I can get an email address for anyone interested in the event (send a pm). Besides the shooting, we had a social night at a members house, a pub night, wives outing to Vancouver Golf Club for lunch and then a casino trip, and an awards dinner at the Best Western near Lougheed Mall.
It was a good time and the wives enjoyed it too, almost all the wives took 10 shots on the last day, I think my wife was one of 2 that went 0/10! :) But on the plus side, it sounds like she will try again when my daughter gets back from Australia and she and her fiancee' come out for a try too.
I don't have permission to post pics but the one I'll post is of one of the women breaking a bird. Nice break!
