Interesting NEW! Remington SPS Tactical models...

Remington has their 2013 catalogue online now. There's (3) new SPS Tactical 16.5" models available chambered in .223 Rem, .300 AAC Blackout, and ,308 Winchester. The twist rates for the Blackout are listed incorrectly. They are 1:7" and 1:10" respectively.

I knew about the Blackout but the other cartridges are a complete surprise to me. A 16.5" .308 Win. sounds like a boomer for sure by factory rifle standards. I think the .223 Rem. would make an awesome medium range varmint rifle.

Just standard Rem varmint contour from what I've seen of the .300 Blackout from online pics. That's probably a good thing to help keep the weight from getting out of hand. Personally, I think Remington should be offering sporter weight barrels in the reduced length, however, that's more appropriate material for the hunting forum.

Looks good. I had a Houge stock on a 10/22 build I did and it was very comfortable to shoot. The for-end was a little flexible though.

If you want a decent bolt gun that doesnt need torquing , bedding and $700 worth of gunsmith bills to shoot halfway straight buy a savage 110
