Boberg arms makes a neat little gun that's design gets a long barrel in a compact package....they curretnly sell 4.2" barrels that stick out the end but they are also developing a 4.2" model that will be about 6 inches long and looks like this, you've got to love our gun laws eh!

Apparently the way it yanks the round back, if the bullet is not crimped well it can separate...

You could see that happening with the amount of force that is used when the next cartridge is pulled back then chambered.

I don't know it seems like an extra movement that is not needed but... Look at the size of the overall pistol!! How cool would that be!! It's a trade off Size vs Function I'am leaning towards the overall size.

Thanks for the post!

A couple of years ago, when the announcement was made here about the pistol going into production, I wrote Boberg to say I wanted one. Never heard another word from them. I wonder how well the design actually works. The British Mars of the turn of the century used a similar loading mechanism and was described by military testers as extremely unpleasant to shoot. I also wonder if they've actually gotten into production. Has anyone actually bought one? They seem like a really good idea and I'd like to be able to get one.

MTF, Gary from Wanstalls said pretty much the same thing...they aren't interested in exports at this time it seems. Small company trying to get the kinks out and limited production.
It would be a bit expensive and somewhat redundant up here but interesting as part of a collection of unique actions!

They are in production, with some teething issues:

I guess I should have written that my interest in the Boberg is in adding to my collection. I collect different autoloading actions from simple blowback to the semi-auto revolver. Hopefully, Boberg will get to the point where they can sell to Canada.

.380 would probably defeat their goal of getting more muzzle velocity and power in a small package, but if they can't make it reliable for self defense the size won't matter.

I have been following this pistol for nearly 4 years the loading mechanism is very similar to most belt fed machine guns they make all their parts in house to ensure quality

Arne does have a ongoing list of people from Canada that want it so the bigger the list the better

10 mm and 45 acp are in the future aswell
