Interesting read.

That is a good read '94 and it supports the things I saw and reported after our moose hunt. The article deals only with wolves though, in this country you have to also factor in the predation from grizzly and black bears. It makes you wonder how any calf moose survive at all!
Remember that on our recent hunt we only saw 1 surviving calf moose, and that calf still has all winter running from wolves, if it is to reach adulthood!

I'm telling you again, get out there and shoot wolves and get off your ass come spring time and start rolling over those big boar black bears too!
 
.........yup i hear ya. I killed a one year old pup last year by fluke. (just happened upon it) This year living in Edson i plan to hunt them on purpose in dec/jan.
 
There was an excellent article about wolf impact on hunting in Outdoor Life a year or so ago written by Jim Zumbo IIRC.

I'll try to find the article and post the issue.
 
hopefully this spring, my dad and i and his friend can each take our black bear, easing pressur on moose and deer!
