A coworker showed me some pics of his modded out sks.
Aside from the new stock etc I was impressed with his bolt carrier handle being moved to the opposite side.
Cost him $60 to have done including modifying the receiver cover.

I guess he just had the charge handle cut off and welded on the opposite side, then had some metal removed from the corresponding side of the receiver.
If your a lefty, and know a guy to do the work, then why not right?

He didn't just weld it on the other side did he? If and when the weld breaks its going to fly right into his eye and a black eye is the least of his worries.

Another Russian falls to Bubba. At least the bayo is still there for now.

Looks good, but if you're left handed and can't adapt to an SKS, being around firearms is not a good place for you

Not necessarily left handed.
Fire from the right shoulder, use right hand to control gun, charge with left hand.
Same as for the mighty FN-FAL

left handed CH's for right handed shooters is much easier operation IMO. That said, its probably better with a non-reciprocating CH. The XCR got this right on the ergos.

That's different. Actually I would like that for me being right handed. I would not have to take my hand off the pistol grip, always have finger close to the trigger. Quickly reload with left hand and keep the zombies at bay. This is a zombie rifle right? It does have a bayonet for close encounters with zombies.

Guys down in the states have been doing this for some time. There is a guy down there that does the mods. It is a drill, tap, weld deal I do believe if I remember correctly. I am a southpaw and have no problem with the SKS in it's present form. I wouldn't bother with this mod.

I'm a lefty and prefer to have the charging handle on the right, same with bolt actions, I can cycle without having to move my rifle .

I just reach over and snap the handle back with my left hand no biggy. Kinda like the old Sterling SMG.
But to each his own.
